75th sarva Dharma sammelana inguration at Dharmastala

Sonala Mansingh inagurated Amruthavarshini building at dharmastala.

Mangalore; "Let noble thoughts flow from this land of Lord Manjunatha to the hearts and minds of millions of people who come here," said danser and Sangeeth Natak Academy former president Sonal Mansingh.

Inaugurating ‘Amruthavarshini’ hall built in commemoration of 75th year of Sarva Dharma Sammelana at Dharmasthala on Wednesday Ms Mansingh said that the way river Ganga washed off the sins of people who immerse in her, every individual must become a Ganga in themselves by responding to the pains, pangs and disappointments of others. Everyone must try to take away others pain and spread the beauty of happiness and love.

She said that Ganga stands for eternal flow and the life of human beings is similar to this flow. “Our life is a eternal flow or cycle of life, death and rebirth. This eternal cycle is the only truth in the world. We resort to killing our external enemies with violence but the intrinsic enemies can be killed by light of spirituality,” she added.
She said that she had visited Dharmasthala in 1961 for the ‘Brahmopadesha’ ceremony of Dr Veerendra Heggade.

“I had visited the place in 1961 as the grand daughter of the then Governor of Mysore Province Mangaladas Pakwas. The same year my arengatum took place in Rajabhavan. After that I gave several programmes here in this pious land. My relation with Dharmasthala and the memories connected to this land is relived today in the form of this visit,” she added.

Later delivering the presidential address, Dr D Veerendra Heggade said that his father Rathnaverma Heggade had a wish that the Governor of Mysore Province should attend the Brahmopadesham ceremony.

“It was very difficult to invite the Governor for such programmes those days. Hence, my father organised inauguration of Ganga guest house and the Brahmopadesham on the same day. Then Ms Mansingh was only 17 years old,” Dr Heggade recalled stating that it was his personal wish that ‘Amruthavarshini’ must be inaugurated by Ms Sonal Mansingh, which was fulfiled.

He said that Manjaiah and Rathnaverma Heggade during their lifetime propagated not only to Dharmasthala but to all religious centres the lesson as to how a religious centre must be, how the pains and problems of the devotees can be addressed and what works these religious centres must take up.

Dr Heggade said that over 5,000 people can sit and watch programmes at a time in Amruthavarshini hall, which has been built in a record time of 60 days. “It feels as though ‘Vishwakarma’ himself has built this,” Dr Heggade said.

NEW AIRLINE TAKES TO THE SKIES FROM THE SANDS OF THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

MIDEX AIRLINES, with an owned fleet of 6 aircraft,

will start scheduled operations by the end of this year

Dubai (United Arab Emirates):

A major new airline will rise from the sands of the United Arab Emirates and take to the skies by the end of this year, it was announced at the Dubai Air Show today (November 12).

Dr. Issam Khairallah, President of the new operator, MIDEX AIRLINES, said he received the licence for cargo and passenger operations, earlier this year.

He explained that MIDEX will first start with cargo operations to six major destinations that include Orly in France, Mumbai and Kochin in India, Dhaka in Bangladesh, Istanbul in Turkey and Beirut in Lebanon.

More destinations will be added later.

“We will operate scheduled flights daily to all six destinations with cargo initially,” said Dr. Khairallah while pointing out that the new airline has reserved its option to start passenger operations at a later date.

“We will be United Arab Emirate’s first dedicated cargo airline and the largest cargo operator in the Middle East with a privately owned fleet,” said MIDEX President.

The airline management has been busy acquiring aircraft, having all the necessary checks done and getting them ready to take to the skies. The fleet now is Six (6) aircraft strong and all airplanes are owned by MIDEX:

It has Six (6) Airbus, A300B4-203F.

“We have 54 pilots, mostly from the United States of America,” Dr. Khairallah said.

He thanked the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Governments, the Civil Aviation authorities and the Management of Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports for doing everything possible to help the fourth UAE-registered carrier to take to the skies. The other three are Emirates, Etihad and Air Arabia.

DAILY SCHEDULED FLIGHTS

Mr. Jassim Al Bastaki, MIDEX Director General, pointed out that the cargo carrier will have scheduled flights daily out of Al Ain Airport, which will act as the airline’s hub airport.

“The United Arab Emirates has an ideal location on the cross-roads between the East and the West. Al Ain offers several major advantages to an airline company like us that has a strict policy of being on time every time.

Our motto is ‘IT’S ON TIME OR IT’s ON US’,” Mr. Al Bastaki said.

“The facilities at Al Ain Airport are among the best in the world. Al Ain is close to Oman and linked to both Abu Dhabi and Dubai by a four-lane highway, which most times makes travelling between Al Ain and Dubai easier and quicker than between Dubai and Sharjah,” Mr Al Bastaki said.

“And for us, the crowning factor was that Al Ain is not a crowded airport like other UAE airports. We get a nice straight approach every time, saving on time and on fuel while clearances are quicker to obtain providing us with least possible turnaround time,” Mr. Al Bastaki pointed out, while praising Mr. Faris Al Mazroui, Director of Al Ain Airport, for providing all possible assistance.

Mr. Anthony Graas, MIDEX Airlines’ Operations Director, explained that each aircraft is capable of carrying up to 45 tonnes of cargo.

“For our network stretching from Al Ain either side to Orly and Dhaka, we will carry 200 tonnes a day which is a very good volume. We can also carry fresh produce daily as all our planes are refrigerated,” he said.

Mr. Graas pointed out that all aircraft have automated landing systems. The company has acquired one of the largest spare parts inventories for the A300B4 with a spare engine to ensure that the aircraft do not have to stay on the ground waiting for parts to arrive.

MIDEX can ensure transportation and delivery of all parcels and cargo to the door of the consignee using the massive network of its subdivision Midex (International Express Courier & Cargo), which has its hub at Orly’s airport.

“This will ensure that all parcels will be custom cleared and delivered across Europe, the USA and Canada in record time with systematic Proof Of Delivery. All cargo and parcel shipments will be monitored at all times using MIDEX’s Track & Trace system, which we invented,” Mr. Graas said.

He added that local airlines would be used to carry cargo and parcels across the GCC.

MYSORE: The Vijayadashami procession, the grand finale of the ten-day Dasara festivities, was witnessed by thousands, including foreign tourists on Sunday.

Though there were apprehensions that rain may play spoilsport, the procession took off in bright sunlight showcasing the culture and heritage of the state, with the regal pomp enthralling the crowd.

As the Legislative Assembly is kept under suspended animation and President’s rule imposed on the state, the venue of Vijayadashami procession was free from leaders and party workers.

As per the custom, it was the chief minister who offers Nandi puja at Balarama Gate and then offer flowers to presiding deity Goddess Chamundeshwari. But in the present political scenario, it was Governor Rameshwara Thakur’s turn. He arrived ten minutes before the scheduled time at the Balarama Gate of the Mysore Palace and offered the customary Nandi Puja at 2 p.m. In his message, Thakur said Karnataka is known for its rich heritage and culture. He also wished that Goddess Chamundeshwari will bless the state for its overall development.

Later, the Governor, his wife Narmadha and scion of Mysore Royal family Srikanatadutta Narashimraja Wadiyar got up to the podium to offer floral tributes to local deity Goddess Chamudeshwari, placed on the 750 kg Golden Howdah, carried by Balarama, the elephant.

Floral tributes were followed by a 21-gun salute. The police band played the National Anthem to mark the beginning of the Jumbo Savari.

Around 76 troupes, including 27 tableaux, showcased the development and promotion of tourism, Akshara Dasoha of Siddaganaga Seer, tableau on the use of Vitamin A tablets, traditional items like Mysore jasmine, betal leaves, erranagere brijan, traditional art, women empowerment, sericulture, and few other things related to the history and heritage of Karnataka were displayed.

More than 50 folk troupes like Geru dance, Veeragase and Kamsale attracted the tourists and dignitaries. The grand finale was shot by South African television channel, and was recorded by ten national and state television channels.

Howdah elephant Balaram carrying Goddess Chamundeshwari was accompanied by Kanthi and Sarala followed by cultural troupes, police platoons playing band, NCC cadets, and mounted police.

Thousands of people had poured in from early morning all long the three-km stretch to get a glimpse of the grand procession.
